I was told today that people are worth pursuing. In general, I agree.
How long do you pursue someone that left you? How long do you pursue someone that has thwarted your efforts to communicate? How long do you pursue someone that obviously doesn't want to be sought after?
It takes a lot of time and energy to pursue someone that doesn't want anything to do with you. At what point do you leave someone to their own devices and hope they will someday return to you?
However, there is someone that very much wants to be sought after that we often ignore:
[1] Oh give thanks to the LORD, call upon His name; Make known His deeds among the peoples. [2] Sing to Him, sing praises to Him; Speak of all His wonders. [3] Glory in His holy name; Let the heart of those who seek the LORD be glad. [4] Seek the LORD and His strength; Seek His face continually. - Psalm 105:1-4 NASB
If only we put as much energy into pursuing the Lord, as we do pursuing people and things.
