Chicago's Handgun Registration

Chicago's gun ban was ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court.  After nearly 30 years, Chicagoans got one right restored. Chicago's city council quickly passed an ordinance requiring handgun registration.  Infringement?  Chicago's police chief claimed this is so they can tell emergency personnel who has a gun and who doesn't. Really?  Gun registration serves one purpose:  so that when guns are outlawed, the authorities know where to go get them.  Guns in the hands/homes of law-abiding citizens is not the problem.  When ordinary citizens aren't able to protect themselves, the criminals become more and more brazen.
